The
Mosquito Magnet® , known in the UK as
Midge Magnet, is a revolutionary abatement
system that continuously controls midges,
mosquitoes and other dangerous biting insects.
Here's
what some 'real' people have said about
these machines:

In
my experience as a Location
Manager for Warner Bros. films,
I've come to understand the
need for adapting to one's environment
to have a successful film set,
and a happy and productive crew.
In filming on a sound stage,
the crew is in complete control,
but if you move that same crew
outdoors, they are equally,
if not more so, victimized by
the environmental effects in
the area they are working. Biting
insects present a very big nusciance
to both cast and crew both in
front of and behind the camera.
This
summer, in Glencoe on the set
of the latest Harry Potter film,
we tried a new device from the
US called a Mosquito Magnet,
and found that the once midge
infested site of our Unit Base
was now tolerable. The Mosquito
Magnet proved to catch millions
of midges and allow our production
team to work in relative comfort
in the Unit Base area that would
otherwise have been very unwelcoming
to people. The beauty of the
Glen was much more enjoyable
with the Mosquito Magnet.

Primary, teachers and
students send a raving
cheers and thanks for
your very generous gift
of the midge machine.
Although
the head teacher Mrs.
Anderson said she can
no longer threaten the
naughty children with
being sent outside to
be devoured by midges.

My
partner and I are both veterinary
surgeons and have pet llamas,
ponies and sheep. I suffer from
organophosphate poisoning and
therefore we do not use pesticides
on our animals. We live in south-west
Scotland and midges are a problem
here. They cause much distress
to the animals, particularly
during the mornings and evenings.
We
started using a midgemagnet
this year, and it has caught
a huge number of midges and
greatly reduced the amount of
discomfort and irritation caused
to all the animals.
We
would recommend midgemagnet
to owners of all grazing animals
in areas with a midge problem,
especially owners of ponies
which suffer from sweet itch
(midge allergy). It would play
a large part in control of this
common and extremely distressing
condition.
Midgemagnet
would also be of particular
benefit to organic farmers and
smallholders (a reasonably large
number of livestock could be
gathered in the early evening,
to an area protected by a midgemagnet,
to rest for the night).
In addition to the benefits
for the animals, we have been
troubled less by midges in the
garden, near the livestock area,
and barbecues have been more
fun.
