- Humans
exhale carbon dioxide (CO2), which has been
scientiffically proven to be the compound that
mosquitos and other biting insects use to navigate
to people.
- The
Mosquito Magnet mimics a person's breath by
catalytically converting propane to carbon dioxide
(CO2).The trap also uses octenol, which when
combined with carbon dioxide, enhances the catch
rate for certain species of mosquitoes and no-see-ums.
- Placed
near the mosquito's resting and breeding spots,
the Mosquito Magnet traps mosquitos at their
source. Female biting insects are drawn away
from you and to the trap where patented CounterFlow
Technology vacuums the biting insects
into a net where they dehydrate.
- Within
4-6 weeks, the reproductive cycles of your biting
insect population are interrupted. No
eggs. No insects.
- The
Mosquito Magnet targets only biting insects,
not beneficial insects such as butterflies,
bees, and moths. The can be achieved because
blood seeking insects have receptors in their
maxillary palps (mouth parts) that sense carbon
dioxide. Non-blood seeking insects, without
these receptors, are not attracted.
- To
get the most effective use of your Mosquito
Magnet, it is suggested that you start using
your trap 6-8 weeks before your outdoor season
begins and place
it near where the mosquitoes rest (foliage)
& breed (water), not near people.
