The Mosquito Magnet targets only biting insects, not beneficial insects such as butterflies, bees, and moths. The can be achieved because blood seeking insects have receptors in their maxillary palps (mouth parts) that sense carbon dioxide. Non-blood seeking insects, without these receptors, are not attracted.
To get the most effective use of your Mosquito Magnet, it is suggested that you start using your trap 6-8 weeks before your outdoor season begins and place it near where the mosquitoes rest (foliage) & breed (water), not near people.
